Avon-Canton-Farmington Youth Hockey Association
3 Great Beginner Youth Hockey Programs
For Children ages 4 through 11
LEARN TO SKATE (LTS)
Includes: SKATES, HELMET, GLOVES (YOURS TO KEEP!!) AND 3 SESSIONS OF ICE TIME
Our LTS program (ages 4 and older) is an ideal way to introduce your youngster to ice skating. This program will consist of 3 hours of on-ice instruction with the primary focus being that of developing an interest in on-ice activities with the possible future migration into an organized ice hockey program. This program is primarily for non-skaters with most of the time spent developing skating skills through fun and games.
DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM (DP)
ACFYHA's Developmental Hockey Program is designed to continue to help your youngster develop his/her skating skills and introduce the great sport of ice hockey. Our highly qualified instructors teach your child through a series of drills in a fun and energetic environment. Our on ice program consists of skill stations where small groups are rotated through varying drills so our instructors can help anyone who needs reinforcement.
MITE IN-HOUSE (MIH)
The in-house program is for second year skaters and organized to give every child interested in ice hockey a chance to play. This program is designed to focus on continued skill development through small area games while providing opportunities to play hockey in a cross ice setting. Teamwork, sportsmanship, and the development of self-esteem are stressed.
