Learn to Skate

The Avon-Canton Farmington Youth Hockey Association (ACFYHA) Learn to Skate Program is the perfect introduction to ice skating for new skaters ages 4 and up. This program is designed to help children build confidence on the ice while learning the basic fundamentals of skating in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

Our highly qualified instructors lead engaging on-ice activities and fun skating games across three separate sessions, helping participants develop balance, coordination, and essential skating skills. The focus of the program is not only to teach the fundamentals of skating, but also to foster a love for the sport and an interest in skating activities.

For many participants, the Learn to Skate program serves as the first step toward joining an organized youth hockey program, providing a strong foundation for future development within Avon Hockey.
