Avon Hockey 2026–2027 Developmental Program

The Avon Hockey Developmental Program is designed for young players ages 5 through 8 who are interested in recreational hockey and building a strong foundation in the sport. This program focuses on helping new players develop essential skating skills while introducing the fundamentals of ice hockey in a fun and supportive environment.

Our highly qualified instructors work closely with players in small, energetic groups, creating an engaging learning experience. Each session includes rotating drill stations, allowing for individualized instruction and direct on-ice support to help every player grow at their own pace.

The program is tentatively scheduled to begin in October and will run through early March. Sessions will typically alternate between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM on Saturdays and Sundays. A detailed schedule will be updated throughout the season on the Avon Hockey website.

Required Developmental Program Ice Hockey Equipment

All players participating in the Avon Hockey Developmental Program are required to have the following equipment for practices and games:

• Ice Hockey Skates
• Protective Hockey Helmet (with full cage or face shield)
• Chest Pad / Shoulder Pads
• Elbow Pads
• Protective Undergarment 
• Protective Hockey Pants
• Shin Pads
• Hockey Gloves
• Protective Neck Guard
• Hockey Socks
• Official Avon Hockey Practice Jersey (Provided)

Players should ensure that all equipment fits properly and is in good condition to provide maximum protection and comfort on the ice.
